Take Your Fencing to the Next Level

The Intermediate Program at Sequoia Fencing Academy is designed for fencers who have mastered the basics and are ready to develop more advanced skills and techniques. This program focuses on refining footwork, building technical repertoire, and introducing tactical concepts.

At this level, fencers begin to develop their personal style and approach to the sport. Coaches work closely with each student to identify strengths and areas for improvement, providing personalized guidance within the group setting.

What You'll Learn

  • Advanced Footwork: Compound advance-lunge combinations, retreating with balance and control, maintaining distance and timing, explosive movements
  • Technical Development: Compound attacks and feints, counter-attacks and ripostes, parry-riposte combinations, point control and precision
  • Tactical Awareness: Understanding opponent's habits, setting up actions with preparation, strip tactics and bout management, developing a game plan
  • Competitive Introduction: Understanding competition formats, introduction to electric scoring, mental preparation for competitions, participation in club tournaments

Class Structure

  • Warm-up: 25 minutes of conditioning and targeted exercises
  • Technical Drills: 35 minutes of focused skill development
  • Bouting: 30 minutes of supervised practice bouts and tactical application
